A taste a bit out of the ordinary is in store every few months as Chef Ed Coss presents a new Chef's Tasting Dinner. This multi-course, set-menu dinner is offered on a Tuesday evening, when Milford Oyster House is usually closed.

Next up is a five-course tasting on Tuesday, June 10, starting at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $90 per person, including food and wine but excluding tax and gratuity. Reservation deadline is June 4, and seating is limited. Please call 908-995-9411.

"Every wine dinner is a passionate experiment," says Chef Ed, "often changing up to the moment it is served."

The evening is scheduled to start at 6:30 with a martini reception with assorted hors d'oeuvres.

The sit-down dinner, starting at 7 p.m., will consist of:

  • Tempura Softshell Crab with sake-lime dipping sauce
        Chef's pairing: Vina Somoza Classico, Valdeorras, Galicia, Spain 2005
  • Sautéed Morels with chives & chervil
        Chef's pairing: Antinori Santa Cristina Orvieto "Campogrande," Umbria, Italy 2006
  • Lobster & Fresh Pea Parfait with a honey-lemon dressing
        Chef's pairing: Tenuta Guado al Tasso Rosato, Bolgheri, Italy 2006
  • Pesto-Crusted Lamb Loin with braised asparagus tips & sautéed fiddlehead ferns
        Chef's pairing: Mas de LŽAbundancia, Monsant, Spain 2002
  • Caramel Semi-freddo with strawberry compote
        Chef's pairing: Casa de la Ermita Dulce Blanco, Viognier Late Harvest, Jumilla, Spain 2006
